Mrs. Pushapalata Patil

Mrs. Pushapalata Patil has been a perennial source of motivation behind the creation of all institutions & social service programs run by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group. She left for her heavenly abode on 1st August, 2014. A kind, humble and generous human being, she was an eminent social reformist, speaker and orator, heavily vested in female empowerment and possessing a soft corner for the physically challenged as well as mentally handicapped. During her days as the first lady of Tripura she worked tirelessly towards its social and economic development, adopting various villages under her wing, providing them with water and electricity, bringing joy in the lives of their inhabitants. Throughout her life she upheld the aphorism ‘Ek Khilona, Ek Muskan’ and personally designed a toy that was affordable enough to be given to every poor child to play with. She also authored two works, ‘Haasyat Ranglya Athvani’ which have been published in a multitude of languages. Her flame may have died out but the legacy she left behind continues to live on…
